Terms of membership
Terms and Conditions
These Terms apply when you create an account, use Dads Who Care, or purchase Dads Who Care membership. Dads Who Care is operated by DHC Solutions.
About these Terms
These Terms are a contract between you and DHC Solutions, which operates Dads Who Care. They apply whether or not you have a paid membership, and explain what you can expect from us and what we expect from you.
Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer. Where these Terms and your statutory rights differ, your statutory rights take priority.
DHC Solutions can be contacted at 217 Adventurers Quay, Cardiff, CF10 4NS, by emailing support@dadswhocare.com, or through our Contact page.
This version of our Terms and Conditions was last updated on 3 September 2026.
About Dads Who Care
Dads Who Care is an educational platform for fathers navigating separation and private family law in England and Wales. It provides educational information and practical guidance, not personalised legal advice or legal representation, and using Dads Who Care does not create a solicitor-client relationship. See our Disclaimer for more on these boundaries.
Membership and monthly renewal
Dads Who Care membership currently costs £49 per month. It is a recurring monthly subscription: it automatically renews at the start of each new billing period until you cancel it, and there is no minimum length of commitment.
You can cancel at any time through your account's Billing Portal. Cancelling stops future renewal payments. Access to member content normally continues until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, after which it ends. Cancelling does not delete your Dads Who Care account, and you can restart membership later.
When you join, we ask you to confirm that you want your membership to start immediately, before your initial 14-day cancellation period ends. You still have that 14-day cancellation right. Because your membership starts straight away, exercising it works differently from ordinary cancellation; see "Cancellation, cooling-off and refunds" below.
Payments
Payments are processed securely by Stripe, our payment provider. We do not receive or store your full card details.
Price changes
We may change the price of Dads Who Care membership in future. If we do, we will tell existing members about the change and the date it takes effect before it applies to them, so you can cancel before being charged the new price if you do not want to continue at that price. A price change never applies retrospectively to a billing period you have already paid for.
Payment problems
If a renewal payment fails, we pause access to member content rather than deleting your account, so you can update your payment details and continue your membership. Your card provider or Stripe may attempt the payment again; we do not control the exact timing of any retry. If payment cannot be completed, your membership ends in the same way as if you had cancelled it.
Cancellation, cooling-off and refunds
You can cancel your monthly membership at any time through your account's Billing Portal. There is no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops future renewal payments, and access to the period you have already paid for normally continues until it ends.
When you join, we ask you to confirm that you want your membership to start immediately, before your initial 14-day cancellation period ends. You still have that cancellation period. If you send us a clear cancellation request before it ends, your cancellation counts as made in time, even if we receive or deal with it later. Because you asked for your membership to start straight away, if you cancel in this way we may keep the part of your first membership payment that covers the period your membership was available to you, measured from when your membership started to when we are told you are cancelling, as a proportion of your first billing period. We always measure to the point we are told, never to the later time we deal with your request, so a delay on our side never reduces your refund. We refund the rest of that first payment, rounded to the nearest penny, to your original payment method without undue delay and in any event within 14 days after we are informed of your decision to cancel. Exercising this cancellation right ends your membership access once we have dealt with your request. This is different from ordinary cancellation of your subscription, which you can do at any time through your account's Billing Portal: ordinary cancellation stops future renewal payments, normally keeps your access until the end of the billing period you have already paid for, and does not by itself trigger a refund.
Model cancellation form
You do not have to use this form - contacting us is enough. If it helps, you can use the following to tell us you want to cancel within your initial 14 days:
To: DHC Solutions 217 Adventurers Quay, Cardiff, CF10 4NS support@dadswhocare.com, or via /contact I/We give notice that I/we cancel my/our Dads Who Care membership. Name of member: Email address used to join: Date membership started: Date of this notice:
Statutory rights
Nothing in these Terms removes or limits any right you have under consumer law. Where a refund, price reduction, repeat performance or another remedy is required by law, we will provide it.
Discretionary refunds
Outside those statutory rights and the initial 14-day policy above, we may separately consider a refund request where appropriate. We do not promise that a discretionary refund will be given, and your statutory rights do not depend on us approving a request. To ask about a refund or cancellation, please contact us.
Your statutory rights
These Terms do not affect your statutory rights as a consumer. In particular, nothing in these Terms removes your right to expect that services are provided with reasonable care and skill, or any other right that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under consumer law, including the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
Your account
To use Dads Who Care, you need to register for an account and provide accurate information. You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to keep your login details secure, and you must not deliberately share your membership login with anyone else.
If you believe your account has been compromised or used without your permission, please contact us as soon as possible so we can help secure it. We will not treat you as responsible for activity that happened because of something outside your reasonable control.
Acceptable use
You may use Dads Who Care content for your own personal, non-commercial, educational use. This includes reading it, taking notes, and printing reasonable amounts for your own personal use.
You must not:
- redistribute, publish or share substantial parts of member content outside your own personal use;
- resell or republish paid guides or Learning Journeys elsewhere;
- systematically copy or scrape the Knowledge Library;
- deliberately share your membership login so others can access paid content without their own membership;
- try to circumvent access controls or platform security; or
- use Dads Who Care unlawfully, abusively, or in a way intended to harm others or the platform.
Intellectual property
Guides, Learning Journeys, branding and other materials made available through Dads Who Care are owned by DHC Solutions, or used with permission from the relevant rights holder. We do not claim ownership of legislation, government material, or material belonging to third parties or our licensors.
Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable right to access and use this content for the personal, non-commercial purposes described above. It does not transfer ownership of any intellectual property to you.
Changes to Dads Who Care
Dads Who Care is an educational library that develops over time. We may update existing guides, add new material, and correct, replace or archive material that is out of date, and Learning Journeys may evolve as content is added.
We will not remove the paid membership service as a whole while continuing to take payment for it. If we make a change that materially reduces what your membership provides, we will handle this fairly, for example by telling you about the change or, where appropriate, allowing you to cancel.
Availability of the service
We use reasonable care in operating Dads Who Care, but we cannot guarantee the platform will be available at all times. Access may occasionally be affected by maintenance, technical issues, or problems with infrastructure outside our control, including third-party services we rely on. Where reasonably practicable, we will try to keep any planned interruption short and minimise disruption to members.
Suspension or termination
We may suspend or end your access to Dads Who Care if you seriously or repeatedly breach these Terms, for example through fraud, deliberate credential sharing, security threats, or unlawful use of the platform.
Where the issue can reasonably be fixed, we will normally explain the concern and give you a reasonable opportunity to put it right before suspending or ending your access. We may suspend access immediately, without advance notice, where this is necessary to protect the security of the platform, other members, or to prevent fraud or unlawful activity.
If we end your paid membership for a reason that is not caused by you, we will consider a fair refund of any period you have already paid for but cannot use.
Educational information and individual decisions
Dads Who Care provides educational information to help you understand family court processes and prepare for the decisions ahead. It does not provide personalised legal advice, does not represent you in any legal proceedings, and cannot guarantee any outcome in your individual circumstances - court and professional decisions are outside our control. You remain responsible for decisions you make about your own situation, and we encourage you to seek professional advice where appropriate. See our Disclaimer for more detail.
Liability
We provide Dads Who Care with reasonable care and skill, and nothing in these Terms limits or excludes that. We are not liable for:
- outcomes of court proceedings, or decisions made by courts, Cafcass or other professionals, or any other matter outside our control; and
- decisions you make about your individual circumstances based on educational information on the platform, except where those decisions result from our failure to provide Dads Who Care with reasonable care and skill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. These Terms do not otherwise limit your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these Terms
We may need to update these Terms from time to time, for example to reflect legal or regulatory changes, security or technical requirements, or to clarify existing wording.
Where a change materially affects your membership, we will give you reasonable advance notice where practicable, explain the change, and tell you when it takes effect. If a change would make your membership materially worse and you do not want to accept it, you can cancel before it takes effect. Changes never apply retrospectively to remove a right you have already accrued.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer protections you have, including as to which country's law applies or where legal proceedings may be brought.
Contact and complaints
If you have a question or concern about these Terms, your membership, or want to make a complaint, please contact us. For questions about how we handle your personal information, see our Privacy Policy.
